Apple Just Released iOS 26.5.2 With Security Fixes

Apple has released iOS 26.5.2 and iPadOS 26.5.2, a security-focused update for iPhone and iPad users. The update is available now from Settings > General > Software Update.

According to Apple, iOS 26.5.2 and iPadOS 26.5.2 were released on June 29, 2026 and deliver security fixes that first appeared in the iOS 26.6 and iPadOS 26.6 betas. Apple lists fixes across IOGPUFamily, Kernel, libxslt, Web Extensions, WebKit, WebKit Canvas, WebKit Storage, and WebRTC.

The biggest area of attention is WebKit, the browser engine behind Safari and all iOS browsers. Apple documents fixes for issues that could lead to Safari crashes, memory corruption, sensitive information disclosure, cross-origin data leaks, sandbox escapes, and clipboard hijacking when processing malicious web content.

The update also includes kernel fixes for issues that could allow an app to cause unexpected system termination, leak sensitive kernel state, or write kernel memory. Apple has not listed any new user-facing features for this release, so this appears to be a maintenance and security update.

Supported devices

Apple says iOS 26.5.2 is available for iPhone 11 and later. iPadOS 26.5.2 is available for iPad Pro 12.9-inch 3rd generation and later, iPad Pro 11-inch 1st generation and later, iPad Air 3rd generation and later, iPad 8th generation and later, and iPad mini 5th generation and later.

How to update

To install the update, open Settings, tap General, then tap Software Update. As usual, it is a good idea to back up your iPhone or iPad before installing system software updates.
