Apple has released iOS 26.6.2 and iPadOS 26.6.2, a maintenance update that fixes a problem with downloading software updates over a cellular connection. The updates are available now from Settings > General > Software Update.
Apple’s release notes state that the update fixes an issue that could prevent a software update from downloading when an iPhone or iPad was using cellular data. This should make it easier to install future updates when Wi-Fi is unavailable, provided the device and carrier settings allow updates over cellular.
iOS 26.6.2 carries build number 23G90 and is available for the iPhone 11 and later. Apple also released iPadOS 26.6.2 with the same build number and cellular-update fix for supported iPad models.
How to update
To install iOS 26.6.2 or iPadOS 26.6.2, open Settings, tap General, and select Software Update. Backing up your device before installing any system update is always a good precaution.
If the update does not appear immediately, check again after a few minutes as Apple’s rollout reaches more devices.
