Apple Softens Up: Allows Home-Screen Wallpaper On iPhone 3G!

Hey guys, well, I have found something pretty intriguing on Apple’s “iOS 4 Software Update” page. Now, if you recall, back in April, Apple showed off iPhone OS 4.0 and most notably was the neglect for support for home screen wallpaper and multi tasking from the iPhone 3G, well now, the renamed iOS 4.0 seems to have support for home screen wallpapers for the iPhone 3G!

Now, if you are going to jailbreak, sure, it’s as simple as adding a little string (also, adding multi-tasking is just as easy), well, it seems as though something major happened inside of Apple in their iPhone OS/iOS division and Steve Jobs to change this and loosen up on what to allow on older devices.

This is a welcome change seeing as, well, I have an iPhone 3G πŸ™‚

Now, as far as I can see, we are the first to find this out, so world, you’re welcome. πŸ™‚

Sushant verma: Weird, well, atleast someone could sue them for false advertising, lol. Or mabe in the GM they will add it, keep in mind, this last one is a Gold Master Cantidate, as in, Beta 5. I’m sure there will be another revision as the GM.

Bigarte: Yes it is. πŸ™‚ We’ll see

If you look at the page now, the iPhone 3G shows a black background while the 3GS and 4 retain the home screen background.
