A few rumors have been popping up lately about T-Mobile supporting the iPhone. With the release of the iPhone 5 just around the corner, T-Mobile is trying everything they can to secure customers. They are rolling out training for their employees to help sell against the iPhone and encouraging customers to bring their unlocked iPhone to the T-Mobile network to save money over the other guys.
Now it appears T-Mobile will have in store displays demonstrating unlocked iPhones running on their 3G network (and possibly 4G network with the iPhone 5). We don’t have a lot of details right now but we do know that store managers were asked to activate a new microSIM before the end of August, but not told what device it would used with.
T-Mobile has said that their 4G network will be compatible with the iPhone by the end of the year. That is only a few months to rollout the whole country. Some cities have already seen their iPhone running on T-Mobile’s 3G network. Unfortunatly even T-Mobile’s customer support has no clue on the official rollout process and are currently pushing customers to purchase other 4G phones in the meantime, like the Samsung Galaxy S III.
