Review: XP1728 for iOS

XP1728, developed by Impulse12, is a faithful adaptation of the original Intelligent Qube game (also known as Kurushi in Europe). Intelligent Qube was developed as a Playstation game. The game consists of a character who runs around a platform made of cubes and the cubes must be cleared as you approach them. You can clear the cubes by making a spot on the board and waiting for a cube to roll on to of it. Once on top the spot is then deactivated.

If you are unfamiliar with this game the tutorial provided is very well done. It allows you to practice certain steps before you move on and is also spoken by a futuristic sounding lady that sounds great.

XP #1728 allows you to integrate and login with Facebook so that you can invite friends, keep track of scores, and save collected coins. Playing the game gives you coins that you can use to buy improvements and new avatars that make the game more challenging. You can also buy more coins via in-app purchases.

You should be aware that this application will not work on the iPhone 3GS, iPod Touch 3rd generation or earlier, nor the iPad 1st generation.

Overall XP1728 is a very enjoyable game to play and is pretty addictive. The graphics ans sounds are very well done. Priced at just $0.99 this app provides you with 30 levels of varying difficulties. If you are a fan of puzzle games this is one worth checking out.
