We Fixed The iPhoneSK Bug: For Real This Time

Once again, I’m very sorry for the inconvenience and the trouble, we won’t let this happen again.

UPDATE: I have just shipped over the 1.0.2 update that fixes all of the issues you have been experiencing. Optimo and BigBoss have received the updated application and it should be live soon. It can take a matter of minutes or a few hours, depending on how many apps other developers are releasing today.

Alright guys, here’s the 411 on what’s going on. Look, I did correct a bug in the 1.0.1 update that went live a few hours ago. It fixed an MD5 bug.

However, what’s the REAL bug? Nothing. There is no bug at all. The code is perfect. Turns out, the “crashing bug”, isn’t a bug at all. It’s a feature.

Turns out that the iPhoneSK app had our special anti-piracy code in it. You see, it’s now standard protocol here at LEI Mobile to include some sort of anti-piracy code into apps that we send to the App Store. However, since this project was very much kept secret, even internally here at LEI Mobile, the code was mistakenly placed in the app.

Not only that, to stick to our projected launch date, I jumped the gun and forgot to give the code a final look through before I hit that nice looking “build” button in XCode.

So, we are currently giving a 3X pass through to check for any other little things we may have either added or left out.

We will be submitting this final update for this “bug” later today. You should be able to get the update either later tonight or tomorrow morning for sure.

I apologize very sincerely and offer my sincerest apologies for the stupid little mistakes and events that lead to all of these headaches.

All I can say is that I am happy that I found the bug and that it’s being corrected now.

    I’m still confused… What actually happens once I purchase one of your plans? Do I need to change the APN settings on my iPhone or something? Your posts so far mention nothing of what is supposed to happen after buying. Also how do I go about canceling if I want to? Sorry for asking so many questions but I feel as if I am missing something here.

    I just purchased the 7.99 service. What next, do I need to change any settings.
    I am on AT&T go phone, with iphone 3g 3.1.3 with 5.12.01 firmware (I know I accidentally upgraded). It is jailbroken but not unlocked.
    Please let me know how this works.

    Robert: No. You will recieve an email with a confirmation. Also, you will recieve a tiny little file that you will need to tap on in your iPhone’s mail app. It’s a mobileconfig file. Just tap on it, and hit install. Then, your data will work again 🙂

    no jailbreak is needed to make this work. This works on iPhones that arent jailbroken as well

    RT: Again, you’ll get an email with your personal mobileconfig file. These are tied to you, your plan, and you alone. Just tap on the mobileconfig when you are in your iPhone’s mail and it’ll launch the settings app. Then, just hit “install” and the file will do all the work. When it’s done. Hit “done”. It’ll take you back to mail, and you’ll have data working again 🙂

    I think a lot of confusion will be cleared when
    Alan post the tutorial he promised earlier.

    I am a bit confused myself how iphoneSK works and
    haven’t purchased yet until the tutorial clarifies
    the questions. For those of you who purchased it
    already, do I have to pay the fee monthly? I noticed
    that it uses google check out. Is it possible to use
    paypal or is it credit card? I was hoping FAQ on the
    app will clarify my questions, but I will look forward
    to the tutorial to answer them.

    It would be nice if testing option (which is not functional
    as of now) is enabled to see if iphoneSK works before
    making the purchase. But the interface looks pretty
    professional and it is working nicely. Once I make the
    purchase, do I uninstall iphoneSK or do I need to keep it?

    John: Yep. They should be posted later this week. I am in school from 7:30am -> 4:00 but i am working on it. I do have time to do it. So youll see it later this week. Hopefully, by Friday 😉

    I bought $7.99 plan and got email with proxy settings. I installed it on my iPhone but IT IS NOT WORKING after even reboot the device.

    So I understand, this is basically an unlock for data service. You will have data access only if you cell phone service provides data to you and you will be billed by the cellular service provider for any data service used.
    Am I getting this right?

    Well, since our deal was announced, they have been flooded with new accounts and support and such. If they don’t send you an email with your link to download your file, email me at alan@limitededitioniphone.com and I can get it sorted out for you directly.

    Just like with any big launch, there is always slow downs due to the flood of people. 🙂

      look bro i just got your app and im not happy havent rcvd any email or anything. whats going on?? and it went through twice on my account. if u dont get this fixed my is going to upset with me for a while . i would love to use your app. but if it isnt working in the next few days i want a refund pls

    Look, more likely than not, it’s something you forgot to do. We’ve had a ton of people that buy the service with false information, as in, a fake name, fake email, etc. They can’t send you your stuff if

    a) they get false information, think about it, how can you receive something if you don’t give them your legit info.
    b) you don’t give them your email, period.

    We’ve had a bunch of people complain because of this, have some sort of proof that you in fact bought it, and/or with an account # too, and email sales@iPhoneSidekick.co.cc and give them your real info.
