Verizon iPhone 4 Supports GSM…Theoretically; New Vibrator Chip

Hey guys, iFixit has taken apart the Verizon iPhone 4 and they have found that it does use a Qualcom chip that supports CDMA as well as GSM! Now, what does this mean? It means that if Apple had REALLY wanted to, they could have made this work on both AT&T and Verizon.

Now, I think that they will be doing this with iPhone 5 in order to just have a 1 phone fits all. It uses the same chip as the Droid World Phone.

Also, iFixit found that the vibrator chip has been relocated and rewired so that the vibration has a “quieter, softer feel, and it makes a different sound when on the table”. (Before any of you say anything dirty, I know, we all thought that too.)

Would make sense , and would be the most obvious answer for apple , who is known for keeping things uniform , unlike android. One model on every carrier .. I see a natively unlocked direct from apple gsm CDMA device in USA happening soon.

I do as well. Hopefully, as you said, it will be an unlocked device both unlocked on GSM & CDMA seeing as AT&T has no more exclusivity and Verizon & Apple are on a “non-exclusive multi-year contract” as Tim Cook said at the Verizon iPhone event.
