Beta Testing for iOS 4.3 has begun and Apple has released the first iOS 4.3 beta 1 to developers on January 12. The iOS 4.3 beta has some really cool features including mobile hotspots and new gestures for the iPad that eliminate the need for the home button.
Only the iDevices below are included in the iOS 4.3 beta:
* iOS 4.3 beta (iPad)
* iOS 4.3 beta (iPhone 4)
* iOS 4.3 beta (iPhone 3GS)
* iOS 4.3 beta (iPod touch 4th generation)
* iOS 4.3 beta (iPod touch 3rd generation)
If you have an iPhone, iPod, or iPad that you would like to use to beta test the iOS 4.3, you are in luck.
You will need to be on an Apple iOS Developer team to Beta Test.read more
Apple requires that each iDevice used for developmental and beta testing new iOS versions is registered in the Developer Portal. Some Developers may require your serial number to license their software and some may require the UDID.
To find your device’s UDID:
1. Open iTunes.
2. Click on your iDevice in the left hand tool bar.
3. You will see information about your iDevice and a picture of it.
4. Click on Serial Number with your mouse and it will change to Identifier (UDID).
5. It Now displays your Unique Identifier. To easily copy it, hit Control+C on Windows or Command+C on the OS X.

iPhone OS 4.0 beta 4 is now live! Go to the developer center and get it while it’s hot! I would wait though, Apple’s servers usually get slammed when there’s a new iPhone OS beta on the loose.
Mike will have a full change log of what’s going down in beta 4 after he updates. (Brandon and I are not updating because we need to keep our unlocks/jailbreaks and Mike has an officially unlocked iPhone 3G S)
We should still have spots open in our developer program to get 4.0 before everyone else! $10 a pop.
iPhone OS 4.0 for the iPad is due in the fall, so us developers will most likely get 4.0 betas at WWDC 2010 this June while iPhone OS 4.0 (for iPhone/iPod touch) is released to the public.read more
We are offering the first 50 people who donate $10 or more to LEI Mobile a development spot on our team. This will let you download and run all the beta versions that come out for iPhone OS 4.0 before the general public. If you would like this opportunity please donate and in the text box please leave your UDID. That is your iPhone or iPod Touch’s Unique Device ID. It is 40 characters long and can easily be found by opening iTunes.
One you see your iPhone or iPod in iTunes go to the Summary tab and click on Serial Number. It will then change to Identifier (UDID). Then click control c on Windows or command c on Mac. That will copy your UDID. Thats all we need to get you registered.
We appreciate your donations!
Also it seems as though Apple is having issues with Windows users. They are getting an error when trying to upgrade. Since this is for developers you will need some sort of access to a mac computer.read more
