iOS 6.1 Beta 2 Released to Developers
Hey Developers or anyone else with access to Apple’s iOS 6.1 beta, Apple just posted Beta 2 to the dev portal.
The build number is 10B5105c and so far we do not know of any major changes other than improvements to safari and the ability for developers to integrate with Apple’s Maps, passbook, and Siri.
Apple also pushed out a new beta of the Apple TV firmware, as well as Xcode 4.6 Developer Preview 2. We will post more info on iOS 6.1 Beta 2 as we get it.

iOS 6.1 and XCode 4.6 Seeded to Developers
Well Apple just pushed out iOS 6.0.1 to the general public, and just hours later they released iOS 6.1 Beta 1 to developers. It has a build of 10B5095f and does not have any major changes that we are aware of. We have been told that you can now integrate your apps with Apple’s maps and there are some Siri and Safari improvements.

iOS 6 Direct Download Links
Apple has just announced iOS 6 and it is now available to the general public on September 19. Developers have been testing it for the past few months already. Here are the direct download links to iOS 6.
Some of the New features of iOS 6 include:
- New Maps application with 3D views and turn by turn navigation
- FlyOver Satellite mode which is amazing!
- iCloud Tabs: lets you share tabs in Safari between your computer and iOS device.
- Mail is completely upgraded: Can mark people as VIP and then when you get an email from that person it goes into a special mailbox.
- Passbook: Keeps track of coupons, movie tickets, boarding passes, etc.
- Shared Photo Streams: Share all of your photos directly with your friends and family. It will instantly update on their devices as soon as you take a picture.
- Siri Updates: Integrated sport scores, can launch apps now!, Yelp, Rotten Tomatoes, and Open Table integrated. Post to Facebook and Twitter using Siri.
- Phone App enhancements: Ability to send an SMS or iMessage back if you can’t take the call.
- Redesigned AppStore
You should probably stay away from upgrading to iOS 6 if you rely on a jailbreak and/or software unlock. Please wait until the iPhone Dev Team has released an official method to upgrade safely.

iOS 6 Says So Long Google Maps
One of the larger features of iOS 6 is the new Maps application. Apple has discontinued their partnership with Google and created their own mapping platform from the ground up. Maps gives you turn-by-turn spoken directions, interactive 3D views, and the stunning Flyover feature.
Maps uses a vector-based engine that keeps text crisp, graphics clear, and panning and zooming smooth and responsive. Want to explore? Tilt and rotate to view an area and Maps keeps the names of the streets and places where they belong. So everything’s easy to read, and you won’t get lost.
Find your way to your destination using turn-by-turn spoken directions, a 3D view, and real-time traffic information. As you approach a turn, Maps speaks directions, so you can keep your eyes on the road. In addition, the screen turns into a 3D perspective view of the road ahead.
