The biography used over 3 dozen interviews and Jobs left nothing off-limits.

I, for one, and buying this as soon as it’s released, Steve Jobs was someone I always looked up to and his methods and philosophies are how we run LEI Mobile to this day and how we create our applications, we took his lessons to heart and we are saddened to see his passing,…

Steve Jobs brought Apple into the world stage and changed everyone’s lives. He will be sorely missed. I, for one, am devestated. This is an unfortunate tragedy that could not have been avoided.

HP Announces The Death Of WebOS; Victory For iOS & Android

Well, this is some pretty shocking news. HP has announced that it is going to kill off any and all webOS phones & tablets from here on in. As you may remember, HP purchased Palm because of it’s webOS technologies and it seems like their ROI (return on investment) is not as high as they thought it would be.

HP has said, in it’s conference call, that they are actively seeking a 3rd party to dump, I mean, unload webOS onto.

I always thought webOS was a very good and original operating system. The only issue that I ever saw with it was the hardware it was forced to be placed in. With iPhone 3G-like speeds, it wasn’t going to make any shockwaves, especially in the midst of the iPhone 3G S & iPhone 4.

Then came the tablet, it looked like webOS was built for the tablet, like iOS was for the iPad. However, the hardware that resembled that of an iPhone 3G’d iPad didn’t help it’s cause. Sales were so bad that Best Buy asked HP to have them buy back their 200,000 unsold tablets just a few days ago.

So, from all of us at LEI Mobile, RIP webOS. We hardly knew ye.

Apple Kills White MacBook; RIP MacBook

Apple has killed the white plastic MacBook, previously available for $999. It was a matter of time, poor thing never had a chance. People bought the MacBook 10% less than in the previous quarter, it had to go. However, the MacBook Air is at that $999 price point, so this is what will be replacing it.

Again, RIP MacBook. We will miss ye.

No Surprise: Apple Killing The iPhone 3G

Well guys, this isn’t really anything new or mind-blowing, but it’s worth mentioning.

The iPhone 3G will only exist at a store near you for only 2 more weeks. This is also the beginning of the end for an era.

The iPhone 3G was the last iPhone to be fully “Pwned” as in, it can be jailbroken at will, the only thing that was unfortunately not able to be done is fully unlocked. However, I expect Apple to stop updating the iPhone 3G’s baseband after 4.0.

There will be no more need to.

I expect Apple to drop the price of the iPhone 3G S to $99 and bring in the new iPhone HD at $199 or $299. I expect their base 3G S model to be available in a 16GB (or mabe 8GB?!) configuration for $99 (or mabe even $49) and the iPhone HD will start up in a 16GB configuration at $199 and run to a 32GB configuration for $299.

Apple has stopped sending AT&T new shipments of the iPhone 3G (which is what happened with the iPhone 1st generation back in 2008).

It’s almost surreal to be back here again. This year has just flown by, and to believe that we’re talking about another WWDC event, is a little mind-blowing, but anyways, join us on June 7th at 10am Pacific (12pm Central).

We’ll be informing you of every new announcement as close to live as we can. So join us right here!

See you there!
