Review: Pic light for iPhone

Pic Light, developed by Make A, is said to be “The most powerful and artistic vintage camera app.” Based on that I would have to agree with them. There are a ton of photo editing apps on the Apple App Store and all of them do pretty much the same things such as pick a filter and adjust it. Pic Light goes into much more detail.

With Pic Light you can really customize your photos to make them look amazing using the built in filters, adjustments, lens flares, and light leaks.

The included filters, Vintage, Modern, Olden, and HDR, are pretty similar to the standard filters you see in all other photo editing apps.

The adjustments include: Bright/Contrast/Saturation, Exposure, Contrast, Gamma, Highlight, Sharpen, and Hue. Again you will see most of these in other photo editing apps, but not always together. Pic Light Also makes it super easy to use them. You just click on the adjustment and use the slider and keep moving it until you are satisfied with the look.

The features that set Pic Light apart from the competitiors are the lens flares and light leaks. Pic Light offers Anamorphic Flares, Natural Sunlight, and Subtle. You can also use 20 standard light leaks and 40 premium light leaks to really tweak your photos and make them look gorgeous.

Pic Light is currently priced at $1.99 and is a must have app to check out if you love photo editing.

Review: Baby Monitors for iPhone (2013)

So I got asked by a friend which baby monitor would I recommend that works with their iPhone. I found 3 of the most popular models to compare and take a look at.

Baby monitors for iPhone are becoming popular nowadays. But, with the different brands that offer such gadgets, it is hard to figure out which item would benefit you and will be worth the value of your money.  Each of these are around $200-$250. To give you an idea on which baby monitors for iPhone are the best, here are some of the popular monitors available in the market today:

Withings Smart Baby Monitor:

Withings Smart Baby Monitor allows you to monitor your cute, little angel from anywhere using your iPad, iPod touch or iPhone. Its three megapixel and wide angle camera offers you high resolution and clear pictures of the room of your baby. With its virtual zoom, pan, and tilt technology, it will let you navigate your baby’s room by just touching your screen. Another highlight of this baby monitor for iPhone is that it can let you talk to your baby while you are watching him or her on your screen. You can even sing him or her lullabies. If your baby cries or fusses, it delivers automatic alerts.

BabyPing Secure Wi-Fi Baby Monitor:

With BabyPing Secure Wi-Fi baby monitor, you can watch your baby anytime and anywhere. This award winning gadget will give you the best features. Using this device, you will know if you baby cries as it will alert you even you are out of your house. Unlike other baby monitors, it is easy to set up and can be used within several minutes after you have set it up. This baby monitor is not just a baby viewer as it has features that you won’t find from traditional baby monitors.

Wi-Fi Baby 2.0 (2013 Model):

Wi-Fi Baby 2.0 is a baby monitor model which is small and sleek.  It has been updated a few times and the 2013 model is the best! When compared to its older version, it features audio and video alerts on iPad, Android, iPhone, PC or Mac on Wi-Fi or 3G or 4G anywhere. It also highlights new powerful chipset, uses less bandwidth for recording, built in DVR with a microSD slot, thirty LED lights for night mode, and many more. If you like to hear your baby’s voice, this baby monitor is equipped with microphone which eliminates white noise. This means you will only hear what is important in the background of your baby’s room. When it comes to apps, you can zoom, receive alerts, and take a snapshot of your baby.

Among the mentioned baby monitors for iPhone, all of them are considered as winners as they are all equipped with quality and advanced features that would help you monitor your baby while you are in another room or not at home. However, the decision is yours, but before you choose and purchase one item, make sure that it matches features you are looking for and fits on your budget. If you don’t know which can benefit you, know your desired features for baby monitors so you could easily pick the ideal item that would worth your money. Buy a baby monitor today and keep an eye on your baby all the time.

I am hoping to get a few samples from the different manufactures to do a more in depth review with photos and videos. I will update this post with updated review links when they are complete.

Review: iColorama for iPad – The Best Photoshop for iPad!

Ok guys I just got iColorama for iPad and let me tell you this is an AMAZING piece of software. iColorama is one of the best photo editors I have seen for the iPad.

iColorama is that last step for all of the photos you take. Just take a picture, open iColorama, enhance colors, and apply many filters and image settings until you are satisfied and then SAVE & SEND.

iColorama offers a ton of effects and almost all of them have individual presets to quickly adjust your image. You can also fine tune the effect with a swipe of your finger and choosing the brush you want to use. The included effects include:

Tone:
Enhance, Pastel, MatchColor, Bleach, B&W, BW&Color, Duotone, Tritone

Presets:
Lomo,Tint,Sepia,Colors,Textures,Borders,Lines

Effects:
Blend, Vignette, Noise, Light, Blur, Denoise, Sharpen, Multi, Gradient

Styles:
Sketch, Simplify, Painterly, Edges, Flated, Halftone, Pixels, Hatches, Engraves

Adjust:
High, ToneLab, Vibrance, Saturate, Exposure, Channels, HDR

Form:
Warp, Flip, Straight, Deforms, Glass, Waves, Escher, Tiles

If there was one thing that I wish they could add or change would to have  a user guide or introduction video showing you how to use all of the features. Even though that app is very easy to use, some people may get overwhelmed with all of the options available and what they do. The best method to use would be just trial and error. Keep clicking on things until you achieve the right look.

Once  you have the desired look of your picture you can save it back to your camera roll or post it on some of the popular social media sites like Flickr, Facebook, Twitter and Tumbler. You can also e-mail or MMS your friends and family as well.

iColorama is currently priced at $1.99 and is a steal at that price. This app should easily cost $4.99 or $9.99. If you are looking for the iPhone version they have that priced at $1.99 as well, and they even offer a free trial version. You should grab a copy now at this low price before the developer decides to raise it up.

Review: Snap Clap – Clap Your Hands To Take A Photo

Snap Clap, developed by Dávid Šproch, is a very neat iOS application that lets you snap a picture by just clapping your hands together.

This application is very easy to use and offers a ton of great features. I was able to attach my iPhone onto the tripod and set the wait timer between 2-6 seconds. After I clapped a nice picture came out that I was able to quickly crop and then publish of Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, or E-Mail. I did have to adjust the sensitivity so that it could correctly hear me clap, but that was just a simple slider I had to move in the settings menu.

There are a few features that have been left out that we would like to see in the next update. Even though you can share your pictures, there is no way to save your pictures you took with Snap Clap directly to your camera roll. Also from what I have experienced, once you crop a picture there is no way to save the original and the cropped version and there is no way to undo the crop.

Overall This is a very neat app and I would definitely recommend it. If you are in to taking family photos or use a tripod with your iPhone a lot, this is the perfect app to have. It is available for just $0.99 on the Apple App Store.
