Review: SalesVu – A Super Easy Way To Accept Credit Cards On The iPhone
SalesVu is a FREE application for the iPhone / iPod Touch and iPad that allows you to accept credit cards anywhere, as long as you are in the United States or Canada.
SalesVu’s pricing for Visa, MasterCard, and Discover is a flat rate of 2.7%. American Express is 2.89%. Rates for Canada vary based on the business. Every approved SalesVu member gets a free credit card reader, but if you need more than one you are going to have to fork over $99 for each additional credit card reader. You can also take manual charges at any time. Other fees you may encounter would be a monthly charge that varies depending on how much your total credit card charges are. The range is from $0-$20. This is still pretty cheap!
SalesVu’s largest competitor is Square. Square may be a brand that more people have heard of but SalesVu is quickly rising mainly due to the competitive advantages that they offer, especially in pricing! Check out the comparison chart:

iOS 5.0.1 Untethered Jailbreak
Pod2G has released the untethered jailbreak for non A5 devices. Which is pretty much everything except for the iPad 2 and iPhone 4S.
Here are the basic steps for how to get it:
- The untether is for iOS 5.0.1 on iPhone3GS, iPhone4, iPhone4-CDMA, iPad1, iPod touch 3G, iPod touch 4G
- If you have one of those devices and are not on 5.0.1 yet, update now! The SHSH window is still open for 5.0.1 If you unlock via ultrasn0w or gevey, make sure you only get to 5.0.1 via a custom IPSW! Once you’re at 5.0.1, use the latest redsn0w 0.9.10 to both jailbreak and untether.
- If you’re already at 5.0.1 with a tethered jailbreak, you have two choices: either run redsn0w 0.9.10 over your current jailbreak (deselect “Install Cydia” if you do that), or install the Cydia package prepared by the chronic devteam. The patches are the same regardless of which you choose.
- Some of you are using a hybrid 5.0/5.0.1 configuration. If so, do not attempt to install this untether over that setup! You will most likely get into a reboot cycle. Do a sync and fresh restore to 5.0.1 then install the jailbreak + untether.

Review: Loop iPod Nano Wristband
The iPod nano has been destined to be a watch ever since its release. I have had several watch bands but this one really is my favorite. I found it on kickstarter and loved it instantly. It is very modern and sleek looking especially in the sheer white color. My first concern though was if the white would discolor like most white silicon cases do but after about two weeks of use it still shows no sign of any discoloring. It is great as I have had tons of issues with cases discoloring so this is a great new change. My only problem I have probably had with the case is that it isn’t all too protective. The sides of the Nano are slightly protected but definitely not very durable and the screen is totally vulnerable with no edge around the screen to give any protection. This issue is solved very easily with a screen protector but it still can be a cause for concern. Overall though you are taking a risk wearing the nano on your wrist so just be careful and enjoy the style and function that this new wristband brings. There are a lot of options out there but out of all that I have used I would put this option first due to its style, comfort, and function.
