iPhone 5 Thinner and Wider?
Italian site Macitynet received a supposed iPhone 5 case from a top case manufacture in Hong Kong and matched it up with the iPhone 4 and iPod Touch to see a huge difference. It appears the next generation iPhone 5 will be thinner and wider. There are also some other pictures with the iPod Touch so you can see the difference.

What do you guys think of the Thinner Wider iPhone 5?

Gizmodo Get Off Scott-Free On iPhone Case
Gizmodo are a rather tricky company. Having bought the secret iPhone 4 prototype for $5,000 to gain access to a world-exclusive, despite the fact the phone had technically been left and was now classified as stolen technology by many in the journalistic community, alongside many Apple fans and Apple’s staff themselves, they are getting away with it, too.
It’s bizarre, as whether you’re Apple or another outlet, that announcement was important, but seemingly the judge didn’t think Gizmodo had done anything wrong, despite the blackmailing of Apple and the $5,000 paid to acquire lost technology that didn’t belong to them. People sell found phones all the time, but usually, those people are classified as criminals.
It’s difficult to tell whether there will be any repercussions, but it certainly won’t do Gizmodo’s credibility any good. Journalistic integrity is one thing – journalistic integrity in the eyes of the public is something else entirely, and the News of the World phone hacking scandal was a clear example of what happens when an outlet’s legally questionable journalistic practices are brought into the public eye.
The problem with this is that it sets a dangerous precedent, and Gizmodo’s excuse of Apple being “cold” with them on a PR basis is a poor justification for blackmail and the purchase of a prototype that was never meant to be shown to the press at that point in time, and if you’re writing about a designer/manufacturer like Apple or a carrier like O2, you have to work with them professionally, rather than taking this route. By allowing this to slide, lesser transgressions (and potentially ones of equal or even greater severity) no longer seem to carry the same weight of consequence as they once did.
Only time will tell whether Gizmodo’s reputation suffers at all for it, and whether or not their readership will see this as a sign that their journalistic code may be somewhat skewed in comparison to outlets who lacked a world exclusive. But would they have done the same, had it come to them first? Who knows.

Day 1: Is Apple Unlocking Existing iPhones? “We Sell Unlocked Phones?!”
Well that is the response that I received when trying to call AppleCare. It seems as though Apple has not told anyone at their support lines about the new unlocked iPhones. Even their so called, “senior advisors” didn’t sound like they knew much about it until I called.
They told me something rather odd, they said “we don’t unlock iPhones, if you can find a carrier to do it, they can.”, WHAT?! So, if I want T-Mobile, I have to go to T-Mobile and have them use Apple’s unlock whitelisting database?!
Come on Apple! What’s going on here?!
I bought my iPhone 4 for $879.98 on May 3rd. It’s a week over the return date and for the money I (over) paid for this thing, I expect an unlock! Apple, it’s not our fault you don’t tell people that unlocked phones are coming on (insert date here), if you did, we would wait to buy them on that date so we could get an unlock.
Apple, get your act together and let people unlock their iPhone 4s! At least the ones that were purchased unsubsidized in 2011! What do you have to lose?! Nothing! We already bought the phones at full price!
Call Apple, and ask for an unlock, if you guys get them to unlock your iPhone, let us know.
I really hope that this is a communication error and that we will be able to unlock the iPhones that we bought, off contract.

Unlocked iPhones Finally Sold In America!
Great news! Now that the contract is up with AT&T Apple can finally sell unlocked iPhones here in the US. The only 2 supported carriers in the US are AT&T and T-Mobile. T-Mobile does not use the same 3G frequency as AT&T so those looking to use an unlocked iPhone 4 on T-Mobile will be limited to edge speeds.
Now that you can get an unlocked iPhone in the US you can finally take your iPhone overseas to use on a different carrier. Pricing starts off at $649 for a 16GB iPhone 4 and this is a contract free iPhone. No word yet as to whether or not current AT&T customers can get their previously purchased iPhones unlocked. Hopefully you can call up AT&T and tell them your IMEI code and they will unlock it for free of for a small fee.
