Review: WaterField Designs Suede Jacket for iPhone 5

If you are like me and hate having your slim and sexy iPhone 5 ruined by a big bulky case, then you need to check out the iPhone 5 Suede Jacket by WaterField Designs. This is the best possible case you can purchase for your iPhone 5 if you want the original feel but with a bit of protection from lint and dust.

Before I started using the iPhone 5 Suede Jacket I wont constantly use my pockets to store the iPhone 5 and noticed that I was getting lint stuck in the headphone jack or speakers. Overtime you may even start to notice the aluminum edges of the iPhone 5 start to wear. Luckily the Suede Jacket saved the day. This ultra suede material is perfect for protecting your iPhone 5 from scratches as well, especially if you have keys in the same pocket.

The iPhone 5 fits snug into the case and can be quickly slid in and out. While doing so, it will also clean the screen as well. If you have some stubborn smudges just take your Suede Jacket and wipe the screen.

When you first fit the iPhone Suede Jacket onto your iPhone 5 you will notice that it is extremely tight and may be a bit tricky to slide it in and out. Give it a few days and the fabric with stretch and fit like a glove. I truly enjoy using the Suede Jacket and using my naked iPhone 5. All I have is Ghost Armor clear protection and the Suede Jacket.

In the event that your Suede Jacket gets dirty, you can easily rise it it water and then let it drip dry. It’s better that your case gets dirty instead of your iPhone!

The iPhone Suede Jacket can be purchased at SFBags.com and is available in 3 different styles with the optional pocket. Pricing starts off at just $10! Typically I like to get just the plain black version without the pocket, but decided to change it up this time and added the pocket. Originally I thought I would never use the pocket because that would just add more bulk that I hate. The pocket is actually really great. You can store your ear buds, money, ID, credit cards, or whatever else you can fit in the mesh pouch.

If your someone who prefers a little more style that just plain black you will want to check out their Zebra or Cheetah prints. They will cost you $2 more, but hey, you have to pay for style right? So, they would cost $12 or $16 with the pocket.

I am very careful with my iPhone, but you may have the occasional accident where you might drop the phone, luckily the Suede Jacket will offer some protection but not that much. You can also choose to get a Suede Jacket that works with the bumper case if you want a little extra protection for your device.

Review: iKit: NuCharge (iPhone 5)

iKit has designed The first iPhone 5 case to offer an interchangeable 1900 mAh battery pack and fashionable case covers in a single, slim design. They call it the NuCharge and they need your help to get the project started. It is currently on Kickstarter and they have already reached their goal of $15,000.00. Currently there is 12 days left to get in on the Kickstarter bonus where you can get the NuCharge for just $59. This is a $20 savings as the NuCharge will retail for $79.00.

I was lucky enough to get a pre-production model of the NuCharge iPhone 5 case, and I can tell you this is the best case I have ever seen and used for the iPhone that has a built-in battery. Most of the battery cases for the iPhone that have a built-in battery you have to leave the bulk on even when you do not need the extra power. NuCharge features an interchangeable battery pack that can quickly be snapped out at anytime.

If you are on your iPhone all day long and do not have access to a charger, the NuCharge is perfect for you. You can purchase additional battery packs and instantly swap them out, or you can just use the included battery and charge it at your convenience.

Like other iPhone battery cases the NuCharge also has LED indicators on the side showing you how much extra battery you have available. However unlike other iPhone battery cases, NuCharge allows you to remove the battery and replace it with a ton of different covers.

The NuCharge comes with a clear or tinted base case, white or black battery pack, a micro USB charger, & Pantone-colored case covers in either aluminum or leather finishes. You get one included in the package but you can purchase extra aluminum or leather covers to quickly change up the style. Also in the final product they will include a microfiber cloth, however, it was not included in the pre-production model that I reviewed.

NuCharge does not obstruct access to the microphone or speaker. It will also not hinder the camera flash like some cases will. The Lightning port is also unobstructed and the rechargeable battery has a very sturdy Lightning cable attached that is actually one of the first to be Authorized by Apple!

There were just a few issues that I had with the NuCharge, but talking to the developers it seems like most of the concerns have been fixed for the final production. For example, the Kickstand is plastic on the pre-production model, but they have decided to upgrade that to a super strong aluminum kickstand. I also had an issues with the Ghost Armor clear protection that I was using. The case fit was super tight to save space and keep it slim but that cause my protective shield to peel on the sides. It is not a big deal because the NuCharge protects your sides from scratches.

Overall NuCharge is an excellent buy for anyone needing some extra battery power. It is slim, lightweight, and is designed to fit easily into pockets. The Kickstarter campaign ends in 12 days, so if you are interested in getting one of the first models and save some money on the same time, head over to their Kickstarter page and purchase one. They are expected to ship in early April.

Xmas Tree HD, is an app that lets you design the ultimate Christmas tree right from your iPhone, iPod Touch, or iPad.There are tons of ornaments to choose and you can position them anywhere you like.

There are 3 game modes: Free decoration, Match It: colors, Match It: shapes. The Free mode allows children to get creative, while the match it mode helps them to learn shapes and colors. This application is perfect for children of all ages.

There are multiple ornaments to choose, multiple different tree types, and multiple Christmas songs to listen to while you are decorating. Once you are satisfied with your tree, you can snap a photo of it and save it to your camera roll or upload it directly to Facebook.

This is a great application for young kids to get creative and to keep them busy for hours while they sing along to the Christmas songs.

Kickstarter Project: Kalonn (Strong) Case for iPad mini

Today we found some nice looking iPad mini cases on Kickstarter. If your unfamiliar with Kickstarter, its a crowd funded site to help get new projects and ideas off the ground and into production for consumers.

The Kalonn Case for iPad mini looks like a promising case. Kalonn is an Irish word that means strong, and that is exactly what the Kalonn will provide. Not only is it durable but it also features a slim design and each one is handmade, so everyone is unique.

The Kalonn Ipad Mini case is made from strong durable faux leather material and features heavy duty elastic straps to securely keep the Ipad Mini in place as well as keep the case closed. The back of the case has a built in kickstand for landscape viewing, as well as a hole cut out for the camera. The cases come in a variety of stitching designs and are available in three material colors, black, brown or tan.
