Unlock Your AT&T iPhones On April 8th

AT&T will finally unlocked off contract iPhones starting April 8th. In order to qualify your account must be in good standing and you have to be out of your 2-year contract. Having an unlocked iPhone will let you use your iPhone on any GSM carrier in the world, including T-Mobile USA.

Here is AT&T’s official message:

Beginning Sunday, April 8, we will offer qualifying customers the ability to unlock their AT&T iPhones. The only requirements are that a customer’s account must be in good standing, their device cannot be associated with a current and active term commitment on an AT&T customer account, and they need to have fulfilled their contract term, upgraded under one of our upgrade policies or paid an early termination fee.

We can thank Apple CEO Tim Cook for this!

Did MuscleNerd Just Get Hired By Apple?

Well well, it seems that we may have another Apple hire in the jailbreak community. MuscleNerd has posted what seems like himself receiving a specially made Apple shirt as well as himself talking about his “host” at Apple and that he received a specially made “Muscle Nerd” guest name tag on his Apple HQ visit.

If Apple hired Muscle Nerd, could this be signs of new things to come? The “Pay to jailbreak” solution that I had spoken of in the past? Or just a way for Apple to silence the iPhone Dev Team? Who knows, especially now with Tim Cook as Apple’s CEO, it’s hard to tell how he will run Apple, so anything can happen, and Muscle Nerd isn’t talking.

If he does get hired by Apple, we wish him the best. Again, MuscleNerd was mostly responsible for the iPhone’s baseband hacks as well as some untethers along with the rest of the iPhone Dev Team.

Steve Jobs Doesn’t Look Too Well; This Is Why He Resigned…

We have just received a picture that really tells a very dire story for former Apple, Inc. CEO, Steve Jobs. I think the picture speaks for itself. This picture was taken just 2 days after Steve resigned.

As you may remember, Steve said the following:

“I have always said if there ever came a day when I could no longer meet my duties and expectations as Apple’s CEO, I would be the first to let you know. Unfortunately, that day has come.”

When I originally read this quote, it didn’t sit well with me. I knew something dire had happened in regards to his overall health.

This photo confirms this.

I wish Steve Jobs the best in this life and the next. I don’t want to report his passing for many more years to come, but seeing this picture makes it very hard to be optimistic about his health.

Steve Jobs has been battling Pancreatic Cancer since 2004. He’s taken multiple medical leaves of absence from Apple, leaving, now Apple, Inc. CEO, Tim Cook at the helm in Jobs’ absence.

Godspeed Steve. Godspeed.

AT&T CEO Thinks iPhones Sold Without Contract Are Officially Unlocked; Promises “Fix”

Well well well, what do we have here. Earlier today at the D9 conference, When asked why AT&T would not sell unlocked iPhones to those going out of the country, de la Vega responded by saying to buy the phone at full price and it would be unlocked. When the crowd and press corrected him, De la Vega said he would look into the issue.

Either AT&T CEO Ralph De La Vega was trying to save face or my iPhone 4 may be officially unlocked by Apple in the very near future. I purchased my iPhone 4 off contract from Best Buy about 3 weeks ago and it was still locked to AT&T (as I had known anyways), but that may soon change.

I hope Apple unlocks iPhones that were purchased at full price because it seems that even AT&T’s CEO is shocked that the iPhones are still locked.
