Review: AirVinyl for iPhone
AirVinyl, by Bappz is a great app with a nice retro interface that allows you to listen to your music like no other. When you first open an app you’ll see the retro vinyl player, pressing the genius icon in the upper right side will get you to the menu which allows to select how you like to view your music. Either Vinyl or Mixtapes; The mixtapes are basically playlist in which you chose how you want to play it.
AirVinyl was created from within Air Studios which excelled at recreating ambience, and full audio quality that the artist intended to make their song play. Air Studios was created in 1969 by legendary Beatles producer Sir George Martin. Based in a converted church in London, the studios plays host to some of the greatest recording artists in the world. Apple Releases Minor Apple TV Software Update
Apple has just released a relatively small over-the-air update to the Apple TV. Apple has brought some bug fixes to the little box after the major “iOS 4.4″ (5.0) update that the Apple TV received 5 days ago.
Apple has yet to detail exactly what has changed, but I was experiencing some AirPlay mirroring bugs with my iPhone 4S and they seem to have been fixed with this new update.

How To Enable AirPlay Mirroring In iOS 5
One very cool feature of iOS 5 is the ability to display your iDevice on your HDTV with an Apple TV over Wi-Fi. You no longer have to use an HDMI cable. Currently iOS 5 only supports the iPad, and I believe only the iPad 2 at that. This is probably due to the processor requirements as the iPad 2 has a faster processor.
In order to enable AirPlay Mirroring in iOS 5 you have to double click the home button and then slide all the way to the right until you see the AirPlay icon. Press that and you will see all your enabled AirPlay devices. Select your AppleTV and you will then see an option to turn on mirroring. Please note that you must be running iOS 5.0+ on your Apple TV as well. Now you can watch, play games, browse the internet, and more all on your big screen TV.
Hopefully there will be support in the future for the iPhone 4 and iPod Touch.

Apple Releases iOS 4.2.2 for Apple TV 2G
Hey guys, it looks like Apple has released a new update to Apple TV. The build number is 8F305 and the Apple TV reports it as being “4.2.2″.
No official changelog has been released as of yet, so we are not sure what this update changes, but by the build number, it’s not significant.

Fix: AirPlay Audio Only? Enable Any HTML 5 Video Over AirPlay
So you are trying to play a video from a website on your Apple TV over AirPlay and you notice that only sound is coming out. Where is the video? How come some videos work over AirPlay and others don’t? It appears that every HTML 5 video needs to add some special parameters for video to work over AirPlay. This means that most of the videos on the web are not Apple TV compatible yet.
There is a workaround to this which will enable video over AirPlay using javascript. Take a website like http://chronictv.org/ when you watch a video and then transfer it to your Apple TV you will notice that only the audio is passing through. In order to fix this we will create a new bookmark with some javascript code to enable the video.
1. On your iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch, click the square with the arrow in safari and hit Add Bookmark.
2. Name it something like AirPlay Hack and then hit save.
3. Now click the book icon and hit edit. Click on the bookmark you just created “AirPlay Hack” and remove the URL and put : javascript:d=document,e=d.createElement('script');e.src='http://bendodson.com/bookmarklets/ios-airplay.js?'+(new%20Date()*1);void(d.body.appendChild(e));
4. Now go back to the video you want to watch and wait until all the images load and you see a play button over the video. Once you see the play button open up your bookmarks and click on AirPlay Hack. The video will reload, so wait until you see the play button over the video again.
5. This time you can press play and when you send the video to your Apple TV it will transfer both the video and audio over to your TV.
