Simple Mobile iPhone MMS Settings For iOS 5
These are the settings you need to get MMS working on your iPhone running iOS 5.0 and above. This includes iOS 5.1.1 and iOS 6.0. There are 2 ways to get MMS working on your Simple Mobile iPhone. The first requires you to jailbreak. This is the easiest way. If you have a factory unlocked iPhone, you can use the iBackupbot method below to get mms working without a jailbreak.
If you are on the $25 15 Day Talk & Text plan, you cannot use MMS as a data plan is required. When your current plan expires, upgrade your plan to one that includes data so you may take advantage of the MMS feature.
1. Add our Cydia repo to find the iPhone MMS Fix for Simple Mobile.
Our Repo is http://beta.leimobile.com/repo/
Once you install the fix you will need to reboot your phone and go into settings->general->network and make sure the APN is correct.
The settings should look like this:
Apn: simple
Mmsc: http://smpl.mms.msg.eng.t-mobile.com/mms/wapenc
Mms proxy: 216.155.165.050 You may need to change the proxy to 216.155.165.50:8080
Mms max: 1048576
Mms ua prof URL: http://www.apple.com/mms/uaprof.rdf
If you are using the $40 TalkTextILD plan, you cannot use MMS as a data plan is required. When your current plan expires, upgrade your plan to one of the data capable plans – 50MB or 150MB – that Simple Mobile offers.
2. If you are unable to jailbreak and/or have a factory unlocked iPhone you can use iBackupBot which allows you to modify files on your iPhone without jailbreaking.
1. First things first. Make a full backup of your iPhone in iTunes.
2. Download the program iBackupBot. Make sure to select Mac or Windows. You may use the free trial, but it is best to purchase!
3. Launch iBackupBot and just hit OK to all of the messages that may pop up. It may take a while to load all the device information if you have multiple backups saved on your computer.
4. Once loaded you will want to find your most recent backup on the left had side and select it.
5. Next you will see a list of files show up in the righthand box. Scroll down until you see Library/Preferences/com.apple.mms_override.plist.

6. Double click on the mms override.plist and it will pop up a box to edit the file.
7. Download this com.apple.mms_override.plist and paste the contents into the box or manually write it out. It should looks similar to the picture below which is for T-Mobile. Simple Mobile’s will look a bit different. The MMSC string should be http://smpl.mms.msg.eng.t-mobile.com/mms/wapenc

8. Now put a checkmark in the box next to Library/Preferences/com.apple.mms_override.plist and then click on File at the top and select restore.
9. iBackupBot will restore this new edited file onto your iPhone.
10. I will make a video Tutorial soon.

LEAK: Apple To Release iOS 5 In The Fall?!
Hey guys, here’s a very strange and unnerving rumor that has just hit us moments ago. According to sources, Apple is going to skip their April keynote and introduce their next major version of iOS in the summer for a fall release.
Now, the source also says that iOS 5 is all about the cloud. The new music “locker” service is also reportedly a “go”.
Here’s what the source had to say:
“Many people (including myself) were a bit disappointed that Apple didn’t devote any time during the iPad 2 unveiling to talking about iOS 5, the next major revamp of the software. But there may be a very good reason for that: it’s not coming anytime soon. In fact, the plan right now is to wait to launch iOS 5 until the fall, we’ve heard from two solid sources.”
However, Apple has never talked about a major iOS version in January, these have always been in March or April for a June or July release so it’s not a surprise for them to not talk about it. We are not exactly sure where they heard this rumor, but I hope it’s not true.
Major iOS releases are always followed by a new product such as the iPhone. It’s unclear (saying this rumor turns out to be true) whether Apple will also push back the iPhone or release it with iOS 4.4. The fall is when Apple traditionally announces new iPods but the same source that Apple will also be releasing the 3rd generation iPad at the same time as well.
WWDC 2011 is when sources say that Apple will be announcing iOS 5.
Now, why do I have so much of a problem with this? The iPhone launch. Apple would be stupid if they released iPhone 5 during the fall as well as a new iPad and new iPods. They would cannibalize their own product line, the source obviously doesn’t know that word or concept.
This is why Apple has each of their major products launch at different times, the iPad in the spring, the iPhone/Mac OS X in the summer, and the iPods/Apple TV in the fall, this is to prevent cannibalization of their own products. The iPad launch would completely take over the iPod announcements thus killing potential profits.
Anyways, we will be here, regardless, to cover all of Apple’s latest and greatest product announcements!
Stay tuned…

LEAK: iPhone 5 Designs For Case Makers Found
Hey guys, looks like we may be looking at iPhone 5 (sans the black home button). These images were leaked from one of Apple’s case suppliers. If true, this would indicate that the iPhone 5 will look the same as iPhone 4, also, the screen runs from edge to edge, with that 4 inch screen that we had previously said would come to the next iPhone.
Also, it looks as though Apple is making a push to the white iPhone as well, just as we’ve seen with the white iPad 2.
The only thing that we can’t see is if the back is metal or glass, rumors suggest that the sides would be tapered and it would carry the same aluminum back as the iPad. iPhone 5 is only 3 or so months away, so this could be quite legitimate.
We’ll update you on anything else as it comes in…

Apple’s Safari Web Browser Was Hacked In 5 Seconds At Pwn2Own
Hey guys, looks like Apple still has some work to do on their web browser’s security. A French security firm, Vulpen, managed to break into all of the major web browsers with ease, but Safari was the easiest to take down.
As some of you may know, companies welcome hacking competitions like this because it allows them to fix major security flaws in order to stay ahead of the competition in security.
Google has even promised $20,000 to whoever can hack their browser, looks like someone has earned some money.
Safari 5 was hacked when it was at version 5.0.3 but despite Apple’s Safari 5.0.4 update released yesterday to Snow Leopard users, 64 security flaws and bugs were fixed, but a few vulnerabilities still remained.
If only finding a permanent untethered jailbreak for all were this easy…

CONFIRMED: Apple Had 64GB iPhone 4 In Development
Hey guys, now, as you know, last year at about this time, Gizmodo got their hands on the next generation of iPhone, this turned out to be the iPhone 4. Now, there was a lot of drama and a lot of speculation and everything, we were sure the device was legit when we saw the images. I knew this was Apple’s device, turned out to be true.
Anyways, if you recall, Gizmodo’s iPhone 4 was remote wiped and there was no way to restore it since iOS 4 for iPhone 4 was still months away. Well, a couple days ago, i heard rumors of someone having gotten their hands on a 64Gb iPhone 4 prototype, it was just until today that I could confirm that this is legitimate.
It seems as though M.I.C Gadget got a hold of a leaked iPhone 4 “engineering prototype” from a back room deal at one of Apple’s Chinese production plants.
Now, some things of note, the back says “XXGB” like Gizmodo’s iPhone 4, this could signal that the phone they had was 64GB since other leaked units had 16GB or 32GB where the capacity was at. This could have been Apple’s way of concealing it.
Also, we have the serial number and judging by the way Apple does their serial numbers, this phone was manufactured about 1 year ago. Also, it carries the model number of 995-6049LL. It also lacks the “+ and “-” on the volume buttons, just like Gizmodo’s model. Oh, and it was completely unlocked, no carrier locks whatsoever as well as running iOS 4.1 (I guess they haven’t updated to iOS 4.2.1?)
This is pretty cool stuff. However, this makes you wonder, why didn’t Apple release a 64GB iPhone 4? This may also signal that a 64GB model is coming to iPhone 5, but maybe it will be introduced this Summer at WWDC.
Unwire.hk, is reporting that you can purchase a 64GB iPhone 4 Prototype in Sin Tak, which is the greyest grey market in all of Hong Kong, so this means that they must have a few of them.
