Pwnage Tool 4.2 Released; Fixes iBooks & Perfects 4.2.1 Untethered Jailbreak

Hey guys, well, moments ago, the iPhone Dev Team released their latest Pwnage Tool. This new Pwnage Tool works on all iOS devices (except iPod touch 2nd generation) since it uses both the limera1n exploit and Chronic’s untether exploit.

Also, they have perfected the jailbreak in order to fix the new iBooks update as well as the Apple TV Wi-Fi bug (Apple TV forgets what Wi-Fi network password is to be used after it goes to sleep or after a certain amount of time) as well as some other random fixes that should perfect the jailbreak and in turn, increase battery life. If you want the iBooks update fix, you should run the Pwnage Tool, or wait until Cydia 1.1 is launched.

I have been hearing a lot of buzz around Cydia 1.1 and I can’t wait for it to be released!

Here is what the iPhone Dev Team had to say:

PwnageTool also includes two very recent improvements to the 4.2.1 JB:  iBooks was just fixed by @comex and @pushfix last night so that it works as intended on DRMed books, and the wifi problem on AppleTV 2G was fixed by @nitotv, @DHowett, and @saurik.  Both of these fixes will also be available in upcoming Cydia package updates, so if you’re already jailbroken you can wait for those updates rather than restore and jailbreak again.

AT&T Cuts iPhone 3G [S] Price To $49; Tries To Grab As Many People Before Verizon Gets iPhone

Hey guys, this morning, it looks like AT&T made a move of it’s own, looks like the iPhone 3G [S] is now going to be $49 per phone (on a 2-year contract). Now, this is very suspicious to me due to all of the rumors going around about Verizon finally getting the iPhone.

To me, it appears as though AT&T is trying to lock in as many iPhone customers as they can before Verizon can get their hands on an iPhone. In 2010, we reported that Apple, Verizon, and AT&T agreed to move the Verizon iPhone announcement until 2011 so that AT&T could sign up as many people as they could before Verizon had a crack at it.

So there you go guys!

Here is AT&T’s press release:

AT&T* today announced a new price for the popular iPhone 3GS – $49.00 – available beginning tomorrow, Friday, January 7, for both new and upgrade-eligible existing AT&T customers. The offer will be available online at www.att.com/iphone, across more than 2,200 AT&T retail locations nationwide and through AT&T business channels, as well as Apple channels.**

BREAKING: LEI Mobile 5 Approved; Available Now!

(Click here for Full Resolution Image)

Hey guys, some more breaking news hitting us tonight. Looks like Apple just approved LEI Mobile 5 for iTunes. We had previously been rejected due to a bug in our Project “Rogue” mobile site for the iPad and we had anticipated a week’s delay for approval, but it looks like Apple approved us in a matter of a few hours.

Also, on a side note, I was writing this article and I had estimated the app to be live by the morning, but it looks like it has already been posted onto the iTunes App Store (thus forcing me to change my article, lol).

You will all see an update in iTunes and your iOS devices right now, go ahead and download and install it so that you can experience LEI Mobile 5 for yourself. It’s a breakthrough for us, bringing the 3rd major shift in user interface for the app that has just dominated Cydia throughout 2010 and into 2011.

Also, it’s a major update for the iPad version as well. Not to mention it adds retina display support! It also makes it so that LEI Mobile’s fragmentation across iOS is a thing of the past so you get the same experience across all iOS devices. If you know how to use it on your iPhone, you’ll know how to use it on your iPad (or vice-versa).

So there you go guys, LEI Mobile 5, on iTunes right now. You can also download the non-Push Notifications enabled version from Cydia as well.

PRESS RELEASE: LEI Mobile 5 Coming 01.03.11 & 01.06.11

UPDATE: LEI Mobile 5 (with Push Notifications) has just launched on iTunes! Download it now!

Good afternoon everyone. I am very happy that you guys could join us today as we unveil the next generation of our most popular application. Yes folks, that’s right, I’m referring to LEI Mobile.

Now, the LEI Mobile app has been nothing but a success. We have shipped over 150,000 copies of the application across iOS devices and Mac OS X. We have been using the iTunes App Store and Cydia as our distribution channels, with BigBoss as our exclusive carrier on Cydia. We couldn’t be happier with the performance of LEI Mobile in the iOS software market.

We have garnered over 36% market share in the Site-Specific market on Cydia since our launch just one year ago. We have swiftly overtaken the market and we are very excited to be in that #1 spot with our closest competitor at about 12% market share. P1nkSn0w and SocialMe have also been performing very well, grabbing over 50,000 downloads since January (SocialMe) and July (P1nkSn0w). We couldn’t be happier.

[UPDATE] Apple Unexpectedly Releases iOS 4.2.1 For Apple TV 2G

Update: Apple has now posted the support document listing the changes and it looks like they are a couple small bug fixes that come with this update. Here they are:

* TV resolution fix: Addresses an issue that causes some high-definition TVs to incorrectly display at 480p.
* Download fix: Addresses an issue that may cause a movie or TV show to be re-downloaded.

Apple has just launched iOS 4.2.1 for the Apple TV! Now, there is no word on what exactly this new version does, I have updated to it and I don’t see any visual or feature changes yet, it downloaded in seconds to my Apple TV.

Apparently iOS no longer has to download the entire ipsw, Apple finally integrated the ‘quick-patch’ system, hopefully we’ll see this in iOS 5.

The Apple TV reports it as iOS 4.1.1 (which we all know is really iOS 4.2.1), more updates as to what the update brings as we get the info!
