MultiTasking On iPhone 3G & iPod Touch 2G: Mission Accomplished. :)
Hey guys. Well, yesterday, I discovered that I could enable multitasking on the iPhone 3G and iPod touch 2G fairly easily (Once I had some decrypted iPhone 3G S firmware). At first sight, when Steve was demoing it, I said, “It’s built into SpringBoard”. My suspicions were true.
Well, yesterday, at about noon, I put those feelings to the test, and achieved multitasking on an iPhone 3G.
It’s fairly simple to do. All you have to do is add
<key>multitasking</key>
<string>true</string>
to the N82AP.plist. On the iPod touch 2G, you would add that to the N72AP.plist.
Well, I was going to wait until 4.0 GM release, but it seems that I wasn’t the only one to figure this out and that some website (who will not be named) posted a tutorial on how to do this already, and they jumped the gun.
I posted that I had achieved this yesterday on my Twitter account if you guys follow me.
Well, there it is. I hope Apple doesn’t patch this, because that would really suck.
