Review: Debt Free – Pay Off your Debt With Debt Snowball Method

Lets face it almost everyone has some kind of debt that needs to be paid off. It could be a mortgage, car payment, student loans, credit cards, or something else. We all have to deal with debt at some point in our lives. Managing it can be easy for some people but for those of you who need some extra help the app Debt Free will do just that. Debt Free will help you manage your finances and pay off your debts as quickly as possible.

Debt Free – Pay Off your Debt With Debt Snowball Method was developed by Mobile Innovations LLC. Let me start off by saying there are a ton of features and handy information jam packed into this app. To get started simply enter in all of your Debts into the app from the Debts List View. You pick what type of debt you have from a list of included categories. You can also create your own if it is not on the list.

Once you have your Debts entered in you can click on the Reports List View and see detailed graphs of your Debts. The Home button shows your current Debt summary. It includes your progress until your Debt Free Date, your Total Debt Remaining, PayOff Strategy, Interest Savings, and Monthly payments.

When you click on the settings button your presented with the ability to set a password for the app so that nobody but you can see your financial information. You can also sync your data to cloud so that you can access it on both the iPad and the iPhone/iPod Touch. You also have the ability to choose your payoff Strategy, and set notifications.

Debt Free uses the popular Debt-Snowball method of debt repayment. Under this method, extra cash is dedicated to paying debts with the smallest amount owed. This method has gained more recognition recently because it is the primary debt reduction method taught by financial experts. The higher your extra payment, the faster you will be able to become debt free. Debt free allows you to easily see your changes when you increase or decrease your Snowball payment.

This app also has some bonus features which are usually apps themselves. You get a FREE PayOff Date Calculator, a Loan Calculator, and a Mortgage Calculator. As with all of the calculators, you get an Amortization chart and the ability to email your results right from the app.

Debt Free is currently on sale for 50% off. Right now it is just $0.99. The developers have also released Debt Free Lite, a FREE version, which allows you to test the application before you buy it. It is however limited to 2 debts only. If you have more than 2 debts and need some extra help managing them, the I suggest you grab Debt Free while it is on sale!

5.0 – 5.1 Unlock iPhone 4S, iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS SAM Tutorial

Here is a nice little trick to unlock your iPhone. It is good for 3 years even if Apple closes the loop hole. This unlock will work on any baseband as long as your jailbroken on iOS 5.0, iOS 5.0.1, or iOS 5.1. To get started you will need to know what carrier your iPhone is currently locked to, your Jailbroken iPhone you want to unlock to use on a different carrier like T-Mobile, and a computer with the latest version of iTunes installed with a working internet connection for activation.

  1. Launch Cydia from your iPhone.
  2. Click on Manage at the bottom.
  3. Press the Sources button.
  4. Click Edit in the top right corner.
  5. Click add and type: http://repo.bingner.com and press Add Source.
  6. Click the return to Cydia button and then click on the source Bingner.
  7. Click on SAM (Subscriber Artificial Module).
  8. Press install on the upper right corner. Then Confirm. Then press reload SpringBoard.
  9. You will now be taken back to your iPhone’s home screen and will see a new icon titled SAMPrefs. Click and open it.
  10. Tap Utilities from within the program.
  11. Select De-Activate iPhone. Your iPhone will deactivate.
  12. Under More Information, confirm that your iPhone is deactivated and that SAM is enabled.
  13. Tap Method and choose By Country and Carrier.
  14. Tap Country and choose the Country of the sim the phone was originally locked to.
  15. The choose carrier and click on the carrier the phone is locked to. NOT YOUR SIM your trying to unlock. (For some carriers operating more than one Carrier ID you may need to select SIM ID.)
  16. Click More Information and copy the IMSI under SAM Details to the clipboard.
  17. Next Tap Spoof Real Sim to SAM.
  18. Go back to the main SAM screen and past the IMSI number that you copied earlier.
  19. Connect your iPhone to iTunes and let it activate your iPhone. ”Double click “Phone Number” parameter at the main device screen and make sure that the ICCID matches that of your SIM card.”
  20. Unplug your iPhone from the computer and close iTunes.
  21. Reopen SAMPrefs on the iPhone and disable it.
  22. Connect your iPhone to the computer again and open iTunes. You will get a message that says “The iPhone failed to actiave. Please try again later.” This is normal. Just close iTunes and open it back up. You will then get a signal shortly and your iPhone is unlocked.
  23. You should now backup your iPhone unlock ticket in case this method is ever blocked.
  24. Push notifications may stop working after this procedure but can be easily restored with “clear push” utility in SAM followed by connecting to iTunes.

Your phone will work normally with your SIM card and that SIM card ONLY since we have tricked iTunes to think that ICCID is one of the intended carrier’s. The phone can be rebooted and connected to iTunes freely without losing the “unlock”, at least for now.

Apple to Australian: You’re Clueless about what 4G means

Apple is being targeted by the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission for calling the new iPad “4G-capable” when Australia  doesn’t have any LTE networks.

Apple’s already changed the wording on its website in response to the complaints to make it clear that Australian customers buying an iPad WiFi + 4G are only getting HSPA+ speeds, but that may not be good enough. Regulators are now suing Apple in a lawsuit over their use of the term 4G, and Apple’s ready for it.

The iPad with WiFi + 4G is a device which performs in accordance with the descriptor ’4G’ in terms of data transfer speed. The descriptor ’4G’ … conveys to consumers in Australia that the iPad with WiFi + 4G will deliver a superior level of service in terms of data transfer speed (consistent with accepted industry and regulatory use of that term), and not that the iPad with WiFi + 4G is compatible with any particular network technology promoted by a particular mobile service provider in Australia.

In their defense, they mention that 4G doesn’t actually refer to any specific technology, but is just a marketing term. What do you think?
