iPhone Dev Team Nears Completion On “Untethered” iOS 4.2.1 Jailbreak

Hey guys, great news for everyone out there. It seems that the iPhone Dev Team have almost finished their untethered jailbreak aimed at A4 (and maybe 3G S & iPod touch G3?) devices running iOS 4.2.1!

This is their “back up” jailbreak. MuscleNerd was quick to comment and said that the jailbreak WILL NOT require a restore. All it will require is a run of redsn0w.

This is great news for people that don’t want to restore their iOS devices. I’ve learned to deal with restores. I used to be the same, but not anymore. If a restore is necessary, then I’ll just do it and just start a fresh sync.

More on this story as we get it…

Apple To Sell 1 Millionth Apple TV Later This Week!

Hey guys, looks like the Apple TV is becoming a little more appealing to consumers because Steve Jobs’ favorite “Hobby” is about to sell it’s 1 millionth unit! That’s great! Now, why does this matter? It makes for a bigger market and a more viable market for content distribution and possibly application development.

The Apple TV could finally catch enough attention to make it a more application centric device (if it hasn’t already been thought up as one inside of Apple). I believe that Apple will do so at some time, it makes sense given that it’s an iOS device, it has 8GB of flash memory, 256MB RAM, and an A4 processor.

I believe that it would be stupid not to add functionality. Google is the target, not Roku, Apple has Roku beaten now, but they will have to go even more to beat Google in the TV space.

I have a Google TV (Logitech Revue) and it has a ton of functionality that I only dream would be on Apple TV. Hopefully Apple has seen that not just a $99 will win the war against Google.

UPDATE: LEI Mobile 5 (with Push Notifications) has just launched on iTunes! Download it now!

Good afternoon everyone. I am very happy that you guys could join us today as we unveil the next generation of our most popular application. Yes folks, that’s right, I’m referring to LEI Mobile.

Now, the LEI Mobile app has been nothing but a success. We have shipped over 150,000 copies of the application across iOS devices and Mac OS X. We have been using the iTunes App Store and Cydia as our distribution channels, with BigBoss as our exclusive carrier on Cydia. We couldn’t be happier with the performance of LEI Mobile in the iOS software market.

We have garnered over 36% market share in the Site-Specific market on Cydia since our launch just one year ago. We have swiftly overtaken the market and we are very excited to be in that #1 spot with our closest competitor at about 12% market share. P1nkSn0w and SocialMe have also been performing very well, grabbing over 50,000 downloads since January (SocialMe) and July (P1nkSn0w). We couldn’t be happier.

Stop AutoPlay From Popping Up When You Plug Your iPhone, iPad, Or iPod Touch into Your Windows Computer

Here is the easiest was to stop that pesky AutoPlay window from popping up when you plug your iDevice in.

When you first plug your iPhone, iPad, or iPod into your computer you will see a popup with like:

t the bottom you can see a link that says “Set AutoPlay defaults in Control Panel.” If you click on that it will take you to Control Panel->Hardware and Sound->AutoPlay

From here you go to your iDevice and select take no action, or something else if you want.

If you are looking for a way to stop iTunes from opening when you plug your iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch than you need to uncheck the box in iTunes at the bottom, under Options, that says: “Open iTunes when this iPhone is connected.”
