LEAK: AT&T vs. Verizon; AT&T Makes First Move By Making Super Cheap Texting Plans!
Hey iPhone fans, looks like what we projected would happen, did happen. AT&T is making changes to their pricing in order to compete with Verizon.
Today, an internal AT&T memo was leaked on changes to their texting plans.
AT&T started with their texting plans. They have brought out pricing that totally kills Verizon’s texting plans. Instead of AT&T’s old $5 for 200 texts or $15 for 1500 texts, you can now get 1,000 text messages for just $10 a month, and $20 gets you unlimited texting!
This is just a pre-emtive strike against Verizon. Us here at LEI Mobile are hoping that AT&T drops the price and the data caps on their data plans.
Honestly, as much as I hate AT&T, if they had unlimited data (period.) I would go with them. I love GSM and 3G, but AT&T dropping unlimited data and also raising their prices worried me. I am very hopeful that once Verizon announces their unlimited data plans, that we will all see some better prices on AT&T’s network.
More to come…

[UPDATE] Hey guys, we have it from an internal source that Steve Jobs is suffering from complications associated with the liver transplant. Here is what the source said:
Mr. Jobs suffers from immune system issues common with people who have received liver transplants and, as a result, his health suffers from frequent “ups and downs,”.
In recent weeks, Mr. Jobs began a down cycle and slowed his activities at Apple, Mr. Jobs has been coming to the office about two days a week, and appeared increasingly emaciated. He frequently lunched in his office, rather than in the company cafeteria.
Hey guys, we have some breaking news hitting us just moments ago. it seems that Apple CEO and Co-Founder, Steve Jobs, is taking another medical leave of absence from Apple. It is unclear why he has taken his leave of absence, but now it is clear why he was not at the Verizon event and why the rumor suggested something was wrong with Steve Jobs.
We are sure that details will be leaked in the coming hours as to why he is taking another medical leave.
Tim Cook, Apple COO, will be taking over day to day operations once more, as he did in 2009 after details of a liver transplant surfaced.
We all wish Steve Jobs good luck with whatever he is ailing from and we wish him a speedy recovery, and we hope his family is doing fine.
Steve Jobs sent out a memo today to everyone at the company saying this:
Team,
At my request, the board of directors has granted me a medical leave of absence so I can focus on my health. I will continue as CEO and be involved in major strategic decisions for the company.
I have asked Tim Cook to be responsible for all of Apple’s day to day operations. I have great confidence that Tim and the rest of the executive management team will do a terrific job executing the exciting plans we have in place for 2011.
I love Apple so much and hope to be back as soon as I can. In the meantime, my family and I would deeply appreciate respect for our privacy.

I just updated my Officially Unlocked iPhone 4 to iOS 4.3 Beta 1 and the personal hotspot is included and works perfect! Now under tethering settings you have the option for Bluetooth tethering, or Wi-Fi and USB. As you can see I am on T-Mobile USA and it works perfect for me (Except for the fact that T-Mobile is EDGE only).
This is great news! We know that this is one of the main features of iOS 4.3, but what we don’t know is how much extra it will cost. Official carriers will charge for it for sure. ATT already charges you an arm and a leg for tethering support. Verizon may offer it for free, but we still have no word on what their pricing plans will be like.
Unofficial carriers like T-Mobile will have this option for FREE. Hopefully T-Mobile will be an official carrier soon. I can see the iPhone 5 coming to T-Mobile with 4G support! It is a long wait until June/July, but hopefully T-Mobile USA will get the iPhone earlier.
Jailbreaking your iPhone will most likely enable these features for free in the near future. We will just have to wait and see.
