It is finally official. Apple has sent out invites to the media for an iPhone event to take place on September 12, 2012. Rumors are that the next iPhone will be unveiled at this event and then released the following week. The event will be held at San Francisco’s Yerba Buena Center for the Arts at 10am PDT.

Based on their official image the next iPhone will be called iPhone 5.
