New iPhone Named “iPhone 4″
You gotta see this in person. This is beyond the doubt, the most precise thing, and one of the most beautiful we’ve ever made. Glass on the front and back, and steel around the sides. It’s like a beautiful old Leica camera.
It is 24% thinner than the iPhone 3GS. As a matter of fact, it is the thinnest smartphone on the planet.
We have a front facing camera, micro SIM tray, camera and LED flash on the back.
When you hold this in your hands, it’s unbelievable.
Second one, this is a biggie. Something we call the Retina Display. What’s that? In any display there are pixels. We dramatically increased the pixel density, Four times the amount. Never been a display like this on a phone. The screen has a resolution of 960?×?640 pixels.
326 ppi. 800:1 contrast ratio also 4x better than 3GS. Uses IPS technology for superb color and wide viewing angle. Quite a bit better than OLED.
The iPhone 4 is powered by the same A4 processor that the iPad has. This was designed by our own team. This is wonderful to have in the iPhone.
The iPhone 4 also has a bigger battery. 40% more talk time. 7 hours talk time. 6 hours of 3G browsing, 10 hours of WiFi browsing, 10 hours of video. 40 hours of music. 300 hours of standby.
32GB of storage, quadband HSDPA/HSUPA. Capable of 7.2mbit down 5.8mbit up once carriers support that speed.
Dual microphones and a 802.11n wireless antenna.
iPhone 4 has a 3 axis gyroscope for pitch roll and yaw. We tied the gyro and accelerometer, compass, and gyro together for six axis. It’s perfect for gaming.
5 megapixel camera! Backside illuminated sensor with 1.75 micron pixel size in the sensor. 5x digital zoom in camera app and tap to focus with LED flash. The quality is incredible. Also the camera records HD Video (720p at 30fps).
Priced at $199 and $299 for 16GB and 32GB. Will be released June 24, 2010 on AT&T USA and other countries in July.
