EXCLUSIVE: iWork Apps Pulled From iOS App Store & Mac App Store; New Suite On The Way?
UPDATE: The apps are appearing and disappearing, as of 2:44 a.m. they are back on the U.S. store but a new “Aperture” category is on the Mac App Store. We will keep our eye on this. What makes it odd to us is that ONLY iWork is disappearing, none of Apple’s other applications, just iWork.
Hey guys, we got a tip minutes ago saying that Apple had pulled their iWork applications from iTunes as well as the Mac App Store and I can verify this find. It’s very strange, but we are also getting reports of an updated iWork suite to be released very soon. This could be it. iWork ’11 could finally come out for both the Mac App Store and the iTunes App Store later today, one of my sources says.

Apple’s iWork ’11 suite has been rumored for a long time now and now with iOS 4.3 looming, this could finally be the time that they release it.
iWork is not available on the iTunes App Store, nor is Numbers available on the Mac App Store as of this writing at 2:14 a.m. The apps on the Mac App Store are disappearing one by one.

I Have 999 Apps Downloaded; How About You?
Hey guys, here’s a fun little article. I checked my iTunes library today and I saw that I had no more and no less than 999 applications. 999! I never thought that I would have that many applications, but I am 1 application away from hitting number 1,000!
The App Store has changed the way we all live our daily lives and makes it super simple to get exactly what you need. Nothing has ever existed like it. This has truely helped shape the world and the future of the personal computer and mobile devices.
We love the App Store. LEI Mobile has been an amazing sucess here both on Cydia and on iTunes and we couldn’t be happier. Over 115,000 downloads of LEI Mobile is astonishing. We never would have been able to get that kind of exposure on our own.
So, that said, may I suggest downloading LEI Mobile 5 if you haven’t yet?

BREAKING: Apple Loses Market Share In Online Video Streaming & Downloads Market
A research firm, IHS iSuppli, has recalculated Apple’s market share in the movie streaming and downloads market. in 2009, Apple held a 74.4% marketshare and as of February 2011, they have gone down to 64.5% market share. Now, Apple continues to dominate the market, but companies like Microsoft and their Zune service as well as Sony have been gaining ground.
Here is what iSuppli had to say:
“The iTunes online store showed remarkable competitive resilience last year in the U.S. EST/iVOD movie business, staving off a growing field of tough challengers while keeping pace with an dramatic expansion for the overall market,” said Arash Amel, research director, digital media, for IHS. “Apple faced serious competition from Microsoft’s Zune Video and Sony Corp.’s PlayStation Store, as well as from Amazon and – most significantly – Wal-Mart. However, iTunes managed to grow because of the introductions of the iPad and the second-generation Apple TV, which have spurred the company’s movie rental offerings and have invigorated the iTunes multi-screen ecosystem. We expect that in the United States, Apple’s strong performance in iVOD will allow it to continue to bypass the video on demand services offered by many major cable operators.”
Apple stock is currently at $354.90 (+3.02) at the time of this writing.

Backup Your Application Data With AppBackup
AppBackup, developed by Scott Zeid, is a Cydia application that lets you backup and restore your application data on your iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch. This includes saved settings, levels, achievements, etc. This is very handy if you are doing an upgrade to a new iOS firmware and want to setup your iDevice as a new device instead of restoring from a backup.
AppBackup DOES NOT back up the apps themselves, just the information they save like settings, game progress, etc.
How To Use AppBackup:
1. Download it from Cydia and run the application.
2. Backup individual apps or back them all up.
3. Once you have backed up all the applications that you want. Use iFile or SSH into your iDevice and SAVE the folder AppBackup located at: /var/mobile/Library/Preferences/AppBackup/ to you computer.
4. Now you can restore or upgrade your iPhone and set it up as a new device. (setting up your device as a new device will fix battery issues you may be experiencing.)
5. Download AppBackup from Cydia Again.
6. Once you have your new device upgraded, put the AppBackup folder that you saved to your computer in the same location: /var/mobile/Library/Preferences/AppBackup/6. Launch AppBackup and click restore all.
