BREAKING: Apple Issues Media Invites For March 2nd Event; Yeah, We Knew Already.

Hey guys, looks like Apple has officially sent out press invites to an event on March 2nd, as we had reported would happen just an hour or so ago.

We believe that Apple will show off the iPad, as well as everything I had told you about a little while ago.

The invite reads “see what 2011 will be the year of.” which is a little interesting. Of course, they block the front facing camera (duh), but what does this mean? FaceTime was more of a 2010 feature, what else could be going on? Possibly NFC? (Near-Field Communication) by being able to pay things with a wave of your iOS device?

Who knows, all will be revealed on March 2nd.

The event will be at the Yerba Buena Center for The Arts at 10:00 a.m. (Pacific) (Noon Central) on March 2nd. We’ll be covering it as it happens.

Stay tuned…

LEAK: New Light Peak Equipped MacBook Pros To Be Announced Tomorrow?; Specs Leaked

Hey guys, some more breaking news hitting us today. It seems that Apple is getting ready to announce their new MacBook Pros with a new technology called “light peak”. Now, I’ve been aware of light peak for years, the technology promises to being 100GBps speeds in both directions. You could get a full blu-ray movie in 30 seconds with this new technology.

Intel has also announced their own press event that is “a press briefing to discuss a new technology that is about to appear on the market.”. Coincidence? I doubt it. Apple and Intel have been on amazing terms since Apple announced that they were switching to Intel processors. Apple is usually the first to market with Intel’s new technology and processors, so light peak being on Macs first isn’t shocking.

Also, some specs have been leaked, The new MacBook Pros will have this:

? no more white MacBook (Apple goes back to two lines of 13″ inchers)
? 16 GB SSD mSATA drives on all models to store the system
? Core i3 and third USB port on the 13″ model
? Matte screen option on the higher-end 13″
? Option to replace the SuperDrive with a SSD on the 15 and 17″ models
? HD screens on all models : 1440×900 on the 13″, 1680×1050 on the 15″
? 200 to 300 grams lighter : 1.8 kg for the 13″, 2.3 kg for the 15″, 2.65 kg for the 17″
? Better battery life : 12 hours on the 13″, 10 hours on the 15″
? 8 GB of RAM on the 17″

Also, it seems that light peak’s new marketing name is also revealed as “Thunderbolt”. Here is a leaked image of the new logo:

Also, here is a leaked picture of a picture of the new MacBook’s ports:

So there you go guys, we’ll be reporting on this as we get official confirmations and official information from Intel and Apple tomorrow morning.

LEAK: Apple Event To Fall On March 2nd; iPad 2nd Gen & iOS 4.3 To Be Announced, As Well As iWork ’11 For iOS & OS X?

Hey guys, we’ve received a lot of information in the past 48 hours. It seems that Apple is going to hold their first 2011 keynote on March 2nd. So what will be announced at this event? The next gen iPad with it’s Facetime and Photobooth features.

Lots of information seems to suggest that Apple’s event will fall on March 2nd because it will be announcing the 2nd generation iPad there. (Get it?).

Now, I’ve been asked about what I think the new iPad will retail for and what it will have, I believe that it will be priced at that same $499 for a 16GB Wi-Fi iPad and the 3G model will drop in price (slightly).

I believe that the new iPad will NOT have a retina display, but it will use a new display technology that blows the current IPS technology out of the water. Also, it will have a front facing camera at the same 5 megapixels as on the iPhone 4, however, I am not sure if it will have a rear camera. If it does have a rear camera, the resolution will not be very high.

The next gen iPad will also be lighter than the current generation. The screen part has been made thinner and lighter, as well as other components being made thinner and lighter. The bezel will be smaller and look more like the current iOS devices with the smaller bezel.

Now, the real interesting part will be the specs that count. The processor and RAM. I believe that they will announce an “A5″ chip that is a dual-core 1.0Ghz (or 1.2Ghz) that “just screams” on iOS 4.3. Also, the RAM will be bumped to 512Mb and not 1GB as previously reported.

There isn’t much else that I believe will be announced, except possibly iWork ’11 for Mac OS X & iOS. This is becoming one of the Apple unicorns out there (as well as the white iPhone 4) so little information is known. However, iWork for iOS was introduced at the iPad even last year so we could be seeing that.

BREAKING: The National Enquirer’s Story Falls Apart; Pictures Debunked?

Hey guys, we have information that says that the images that were taken of Mr. Steve Jobs may not be as genuine as we previously though at the time that everyone re-reported what The National Enquirer published.

Several sources have indicated that they have word that it couldn’t possibly be Steve Jobs due to the fact that in the images, he was about to hop into a 1997 Honda Civic.

We all know that Steve Jobs rides in his silver Mercedes SL55 AMG with its license plate being a bar code. (Side Note: Having a bar code in place of license plates in the state of California isn’t technically legal, but it’s Steve Jobs we’re talking about people!). Steve Jobs is a billionaire, he wouldn’t be riding in the crappiest car in the lot, would he?

Also, it didn’t make sense to me that these images would be true as well. Why? He was having dinner with the President of The United States today. If he were that sick, he wouldn’t have showed up. I felt strange posting that piece of breaking news right after the “Steve Jobs is going to die in 6 weeks ” article. It didn’t sit right with me, it felt like I was reporting on 2 completely different people.

Not only that, he’s been seen on Apple’s campus smiling and acting normally. Sure, I believe he is sick, but the man in this photo can’t be him. If they had taken a picture of his face, I would believe them, but they didn’t.

More on this as it develops…
