Apple Releases iBooks 1.2

Hey guys, looks like Apple has finally sent out the iBooks update that a lot of people were waiting for. The rumored “collections” are here in the application. Collections are like folders for your books and PDF files.

Not just that, Apple has also added support for “children’s books” which are supposedly some very nice looking books that are interactive and made for children!

Also, a notable change is that they also made the iBooks icon a lot lighter.

Here’s the full changelog:

* Experience fully illustrated books, from children’s picture books to beautifully designed art books, available for download in the iBookstore.
* Organize your books and PDFs into personal Collections. Swipe left or right to jump between Collections.
* Print PDF documents and notes you’ve written in iBooks using AirPrint.
* iBooks now fits more words per page by automatically hyphenating text, available only on iOS 4.2 or later.

Tell everyone with jailbroken devices not to update to the new iBooks. It is a trap. It tells you once you update that there is a problem with the configuration of your iPhone and that you need to restore. You aren’t even going to be reading any of the books purchased

What version are you on? This version is iOS 4.2.1+ only. Also, works for me just fine. I have it on my iPad & iPhone 3G [S], both are on iOS 4.2.1 and jailbroken using PwnageTool, my iPhone is also unlocked using the latest ultrasn0w and I’m on T-Mobile USA, lol. The app loads and loads books for me just fine.

Same problem here, only with certain books tho. Temporary fix would be to dismiss the message repeatedly and it will eventually open the book.
